Helpful Information
Billing
At this time, Play Haven Pediatric Therapy accepts private pay only. We will provide you with a detailed receipt monthly (upon request) called a superbill. You can submit superbills to your insurance for potential reimbursement of out-of-network services. It is the responsibility of the client/client's family to inquire with your insurance provider about your out-of-network benefits, Many plans have them but they vary. If superbills are accepted, it is the family’s responsibility to find out if any prior documentation is needed before initiating services. You can do so by calling the number on your insurance card and asking about out-of-network coverage. Our current rates for direct therapy and parent/provider consultations can be found here. For information on our speaking engagement rates, submit an inquiry here.

What are the benefits of private pay services?
No referral is needed to initiate therapy services. We can get started right away! Decisions about frequency of service and length of therapy sessions are made based on your child’s actual needs, not an insurance company who doesn't know or understand your child. We're not limited to a specific type of therapy or number of sessions. Our rates are set to reflect more time spent actually providing the services you're seeking for your child, not time spent dealing with insurance companies and clearing their red tape. Family members can be active members of therapy and therapy decisions. It also allows us to assess and determine a need for services in a way that is neurodiversity-affirming and strengths-based rather than having to complete standardized testing that may not be normed for or appropriate for your child.
-
How do we get started?
Start by filling out our interest & availability form. Once completed, someone from our tea will reach out to you to schedule a phone consultation. During this call we can answer any questions you have about us and our services. We can learn more about you and your child and why you are seeking services. If you or your child has not had a recent evaluation in the past six months we may need to schedule an evaluation. We need to meet and evaluate new clients in order to determine what type and frequency of therapy will best meet their needs.
-
What areas do you service?
For in-person therapy services we mostly travel throughout the MetroWest, Middlesex and Worcester county areas. If you live outside of the listed areas, please feel free to still contact us. If we are unable to travel to you, we can discuss other options such as virtual services or we will do our best to refer you to trusted colleagues in our network who may service your area.

Why in-home services?
Providing services in home is the most natural environment for the child. When working with a child in their own home a therapist can use your child’s toys, typical routines (e.g., meal time, play time, outdoor play), or everyday objects during a therapy session. Providing services in-home allows for easy parent coaching of strategies and support. The best part? No time spent traveling or waiting for services. We come to you!
